What will get people to care about an issue? A personal story is often an effective way. It connects with people’s emotions, and that is more likely to lead to action than facts and statistics.
Myriam Marquez knows that. She tells the story of her struggle with Alzheimer’s to the state legislature and to senators in Washington, D.C. Her goal is to get more research funding to find a cure for Alzheimer’s.
Our video, “Shout on Every Corner,” tells Myriam’s story of living an active, engaged life with Alzheimer’s. The video, produced with Rodika Tollefson, won second place in the Healthy Aging Partnership film festival. We’re grateful for the help we received from the Alzheimer’s Association.
